When I go on this blog, I’m sure I will have a smile on my face for much of the day.

It’s a clever mix of beauty, elegance and design. Very inspiring !

Sarah had the kindness to answers all my questions…

Creation date of your blog?

My first post was on July 28th, 2008.

What was your motivation to start it?

I began Haute Design on a whim, in part by the persuasion of a loved one (to share my ever-growing collection of inspiration) and in part by the idea that I might « try it out » for a short time. It certainly proved to be much more—it became a place to share and connect with those all over the world who appreciate beauty.

Can you describe your blog in one sentence?

Haute Design explores that which is haute and beautifully designed—combining things of the past with present, modern and traditional, fine and wonderfully unrefined.

Number of visitors/days?

I have about 2,800 visitors each day.

Your current profession?

I am a designer and entrepreneur.

Your town?

Vancouver (Canada).

What was your best collaboration?

I contribute each week to the award-winning blog, {this is glamorous}, with a column entitled {take me away}.

The editor and I collaborate on posts within the column on a weekly basis.

Can you describe a typical day?

Each day holds quite a different schedule, however, my day always begins with numerous teacups of coffee, emails and inspiration.

Your style everyday?

My style each day greatly depends on my mood—some days, all I wish to wear is a long, flowing dress, and other days, something a little more casual like jeans and a blouse.

Your beauty ritual?

I enjoy all-natural Belmondo and a little Shiseido for skincare. As for makeup, I cannot do without Lancôme’s Hypnôse mascara, as well as their eyeliner and eyeshadow, Chanel lip gloss and nail polish, Benefit concealer, and sometimes, (particularly during the winter) a dash of bronzer.

Your favorite brands?

There are far too many to name, but Chloé, Obakki, Heidi Mmerrick, Katie Ermilio, and Celine are just a few.

Your favorite fashion address?

Oliver and Lilly’s, Turn About (for fine vintage pieces), Obakki

Your favorite design address ?

Scott Landon Antiques, Cote Maison, Wallpaper

Your favorite restaurant?

I have quite a few on my list, but locally? Fraîche. This unique restaurant is set up on the mountain, offering magnificent views of the city, and serves incredible and unforgettable cuisine.

A very confidential address?

My home.

What are your projects?

Currently, I am working on something very exciting that is under wraps for the time being.

Your favorite blogs?

Perhaps to difficult to answer by just listing a few, but there is a long list of favorites within my blog roll.
